Healdsburg Forever Makes $80,000 in Emergency Grants

Reach for Home

HEALDSBURG, CA., May 12, 2020 – We would like to take the time to acknowledge the Healdsburg Forever Grants Committee and Board of Directors for their continued work during this pandemic and in support of our mission. They recently released emergency grants effective May 1 and we were one of the six nonprofits serving Healdsburg/Geyserville that was a recipient. During these extraordinary times, we are beyond grateful to receive this much-needed infusion of support. Thank you so much for your generous and timely gift!

Healdsburg Forever a regional affiliate has recently made emergency grants totaling $80,000 to six nonprofit organizations providing essential safety net services—food, shelter, and health care—to the most vulnerable people in Healdsburg and Geyserville. The grants to Redwood Empire Food BankHealdsburg Food PantryCorazón HealdsburgFarm to PantryReach for Home, and Alliance Medical Center support general operations and are unrestricted.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent stay-at-home orders are taking a toll on our community. Healdsburg Forever is working to meet the urgent needs. A survey conducted by the Healdsburg Forever Grants Committee revealed that key nonprofits are experiencing up to a 350 percent increase in requests for services while, at the same time, revenues and fundraising are declining. Thanks to generous donors from 2019, Healdsburg Forever had the resources to act quickly to grant key nonprofits the necessary funds to provide essential services during this uncertain time.

In the past six months, Healdsburg Forever has made grants totaling over a quarter of a million dollars to 18 nonprofits serving the Healdsburg and Geyserville communities. In light of the economic impact of COVID-19, all the grants have been made or repurposed to allow grantees to use the funds to meet the most critical needs. Nonetheless, the needs of our community far exceed Healdsburg Forever’s available resources.

Please consider joining Healdsburg Forever by making a generous donation online here.

Together we can continue to support our community’s nonprofit service providers in this time of unprecedented need.
